Da Mazzo di Valtellina, si transita nel centro paese e poi poche pedalate e immediatamente ci si trova ad affrontare il tratto più impegnativo della salita. Prima 4/5 Km. molto duri e impegnativi, poi la strada presenta dei tratti più pedalabili ma sempre comunque senza dare respiro. Unica possibilità per prendere fiato, allargandosi il più possibile lungo i tornati. ( 33 tornanti ) . Parte finale ( ultimi 3 Km.) molto più pedalabile in prossimità del passo.
Nessuna difficoltà di orientamento lungo tutta questa salita, di tutt’altro aspetto e con buon senso di orientamento serve per la discesa lungo le mulattiere.
Dal Passo, si scende lungo la strada asfaltata per un brevissimo tratto, poi possibilità evidente di tagliare per un breve tratto il tratto asfaltato e rientrare sulla strada del passo un poco più sotto. Si scende ora per un lungo tratto la strada del passo, passando dal tornante che conduce a Grosso. (Lungo questa strada asfaltata, ci sarebbe la possibilità di prendere la mulattiera che scende a Mazzo di Valtellina, ma non è molto evidente e scarsamente percorsa, meglio evitarla). Proseguendo la discesa, dopo due tornanti, ora è possibile imboccare la mulattiera, che un poco più sotto, rientra sulla strada del passo. Dopo altri 4 tornanti, un poco più giù, nuova deviazione sulla mulattiera, e rientro più sotto sulla strada del passo, e da qui rientrare al paese di Mazzo.
Attenzione! La discesa di queste mulattiere, poco frequentate in alcuni tratti, rendono il tracciato in qualche caso poco visibile e in parte poco intuitivo, con il rischio di perdere l’orientamento e sbagliare percorso. Quindi fare molta attenzione e affrontare questo tracciato discendente, certi delle proprie capacità e soprattutto disposti ad affrontare una discesa in parte abbastanza tecnica e difficoltosa.

From Mazzo di Valtellina, you pass in the center of the village and a few rides and then immediately there is facing the most difficult stretch of the climb. Prior to 5.4 Km. Very hard and challenging, then the road is of the most ridable but always without however giving breath. Only chance to catch your breath, spreading as much as possible along the back. (33 turns). Final part (last 3 Km.) Much more easily pedaled in the vicinity of the step.
No orientation difficulties along this climb, a completely different look and with a good sense of direction is used for the descent along the trails.
From the pass we descend along the road for a short stretch, then clear chance to cut a short section of the asphalt road and back on the road to step a little further below. It now comes down to a long stretch of the pass, passing the bend that leads to Grosso. (Along this road, there would be a chance to take the trail that goes down to Mazzo di Valtellina, but it is not very obvious and poorly traveled, best avoided). Continuing the descent, after two turns, you can now take the mule track, a little lower, falls on the pass road. After another 4 turns, a little further down, new detour on the trail, and back on the road below the pass, and from there back to the country of Deck.
Warning! The descent of these mule, uncrowded in some places, make the course in some cases barely visible and partly unintuitive, with the risk of losing the orientation and wrong path. So be very careful and address this downward path, unsure of their own abilities and above all willing to take part in a downhill quite technical and difficult.
