Tour aus BIKE Magazin 3/2004 "Vulkaneifel - Drei Maare (25,64 km, 530 hm, 2 h 00 min)" Die Maare sind die eigentlichen Stars der Eifel. Gleich drei Ausblicke über die kreisrunden Kraterseen kann man auf der Tour genießen. Die Route folgt teilweise der Strecke des Vulkan-Bike-Marathons, der jährlich im Spätsommer stattfindet. Doch zunächst kann man sich ein kurzes Stück durchs Liesertal einrollen, bevor es hinauf nach Brockscheid geht. Im Dorf lohnt ein Besuch der historischen Glockengießerei. Nach Durchquerung eines einsamen Gehölzes begeistert das Panorama übers Schalkenmehrener Maar. Über Trail-Passagen entlang des idyllischen Weinfelder Maares steigt die Route später zum Dronke-Turm. Dann Abfahrt ins Liesertal und zurück über den Lieserpfad. Startpunkt: Wanderparkplatz im Liesertal an der L65, ca. 5 km südlich von Daun.
