Von Kirchheim aus geht es am alten Bahnhof vorbei über den Radweg bis nach Gershausen. Hier am Ortsausgang links ab und zunächst über einen Wiesenweg, dann über einen Wirtschaftsweg bis Reimboldshausen. Hier angekommen über den Radweg weiter bis zum Seepark. Nach einem kurzen Stück Straße geht es links ab über Wirtschaftswege an einigen Angelteichen vorbei und nach einer Weile abwärts nach Kemmerode. Von dort aus über die Straße in Richtung Machtlos. Der Ort selbst wird dann wieder über einen Wirtschaftsweg erreicht. Nun beginnt direkt am Ortsausgang Machtlos der Anstieg in Richtung Breitenbach. Hier sollte man einige Kondition mitbringen, da der Anstieg schätzungsweise überwiegend im zweistelligen % Bereich liegen sollte. Nach kurzer Abfahrt links auf den Parkplatz und weiter über Waldwege in Richtung Breitenbach. Oberhalb der Ortschaft geht es dann weiter nach Hattenbach. Hier nochmals etwas bergauf zu einem Funkturm und abwärts nach Kleba. Von dort aus über den Radweg zurück zum Ausgangspunkt.
