Many remaining in the gutter Toteisblöcke led with their melting out at the end of the Ice Age to the creation of the chain of lakes that characterizes today's Schlaubetal. The Schlaube rises in the south of the Wirchensees located, Wirchenwiesen and winds along a length of about 14 km through some steep, up to 30 m deep gorges. In its total of 20 km run it flows through the Wirchensee, the Ziskensee, the Great Trepp Staffelsee, the Hammersee, the Schinkensee, the Long Lake, the water and the Schulz Belenzsee. The Schlaube opens as meadow river in the Great Müllroser lake at garbage Rose. Along the river course there are some mills that today serve predominantly tourism. The entire river is a nature reserve and part of 1995 proclaimed & quot; Nature Park Schlaubetal & quot ;.
