Trail Description

Buon Divertimento

Dell'ipposidra path, by Tornavento in Sesto Kalends.
Great ride that is well suited for this winter season.
Minimal difficulty as well as if yesterday pulled a wind from hell.
It starts from the beautiful square of Tornavento with excellent views over the plains of Piedmont and the western alpine club with views of Mount Rosa.
You reach the Austro-Hungarian customs now the seat of the Ticino Park, on the left and take the road that goes down to the channel Villoresi. Immediately to Dx takes the path that cuts through the canal towpath.
Quickly reaches Vizzola Ticino where you can climb to the village across the bridge and from there along the path to full original path with signage.
I have always preferred to go straight on the towpath of the canal until you reach the industrial sector where, turn 90 ° to the right we put on sterratina service that runs in the middle of the two channels, and that in 8 Km brings us to the dams of taking the Ticino where exactly do these waterways.
Once at the road, taking the right go up until you reach a road that goes down from Somma Lombarda, turn left (eye dangerous intersection) and scored 3 Km. tot in. you come to a crossroads with traffic signs of the Park is clearly visible.
Follow straight for Via Ducale. Now we are versed in the path dell'Ipposidra, means of communication between Lonate Pozzolo and sixth Kalends, which used to tow a horse of climbing routes in the first 800, in short supplanted by the steam engine.
Resist artifacts that exceed gullies and trenches within the heath where it passed the line, as well as the remains of the station Tornavento.
Follow the signs IP with red band typical of the Park. Newly Renovated allows you to minimize the risk of getting lost in the maze of trails that do exist within the moor.
Shortly before reaching sixth Kalends, in places Golant, you can turn left (signposted ), descend to the archaeological excavations of Monsorino.
Here with a circular route you go down to the bank of the Ticino and then up the hill of the double Grugliasco and precisely the Monsorino.
For those interested, the first 800 were found about twenty tombs Celtic (Cromlech: from Welsh) which together account for the Civilization of Canegrate, one of the oldest rittrovamenti the north-west. Celtic stuff. It is therefore called civilization of Golant.
Recovered from the excavations, we continue on the path until you reach the IP beautiful town of Sesto Kalends.
Numerous variations are possible to ride, congiugendolo other paths -type the Strona-.
do it again as soon as possible with just a few variations.
Have Fun
