Die Tour führt entlang der Spuren, die der ehemalige Braunkohletagebau in der Region hinterlassen hat und ist besonders für Mountainbikes geeignet. Aber auch wer sein Tourenrad gut beherrscht sollte Freude bei dieser Tour finden. Am Start- und Zielpunkt kann kostenlos geparkt werden und nach absolvierter Tour lädt die BÜFFELTRÄNKE zur Stärkung ein. Durch das Oberholz geht es Richtung Hochhalde Trages, welche als Lagerort des Abraumes bei der Erschließung des Tagesbaus Espenhain diente. Beim Aufstieg hat man linker Hand einen guten Blick auf eines der größten Solarkraftwerke Sachsens. Auf der Hochhalde angekommen lädt ein Schaufelrad zum ersten Verweilen ein bzw. hat man vom nachfolgenden Aussichtsturm einen schönen Blick über die Region. Auf der nun folgenden Abfahrt kann man es auch richtig krachen lassen, aber ACHTUNG, den Bremspunkt vor einer langen Treppenpassage nicht verpassen. Durch das ehemalige Werksgelände des Braunkohlekombinates geht es Richtung Hainer See mit Blick auf Kahnsdorf. Staussee und Ortsdurchfahrt Rötha folgen, auf dem Weg zum ehemaligen Tagebau Espenhain. Nun folgt die Umrundung der ehemals geplanten olympischen Regattastrecke. Ob diese noch vollendet wird – wer weis? Am Wochenende hat das Braunkohlemuseum im Dispatcherturm auf der Halbinsel Gruna geöffnet und lädt zu einem Besuch ein. Am Fuße des Störmthaler Sees ist nochmals etwas Kondition gefragt, um ein paar kurze Anstiege zu überwinden. Hat man diese Passage geschafft, geht es relativ locker zurück zum Ausgangspunkt. On weekends, the lignite Museum has opened in Dispatcherturm on the Gruna peninsula and is perfect for a visit. At the foot of the lake Störmthaler some condition is again asked to overcome a few short climbs.
