Nur Nebel, keine Aussicht. Der Matajur bleibt mir das Panorama an diesem Tag schuldig. Rund zehn Minuten dauert die Schiebepassage vom um diese Jahreszeit bereits gschlossenen Rifugio Dom Na Matajure bis zur Kirche am 1640m hohen Gipfel. Eine der wenigen Schiebepassagen auf dieser Tour. Sie beginnt in Kobarid mit einer kurzen Rollpassage nach Idrsko, wo es rechts auf einen recht knackigen 600hm-Asphaltanstieg hinauf nach Livek und Avsa geht. Kurz nach dem kleinen Ort endet der Asphalt, und eine recht gute Schotterstraße führt durch Laubwälder und kleine Almgebiete moderat, aber stetig bergauf. Mit zunehmender Höhe wird die Strecke zusehends ruppiger, bleibt aber problemlos fahrbar. Ein grünes Gatter markiert schliesslich die Grenze zu Italien, ab hier wird der Weg zum grasbewachsenen Karrenweg und kurz vor dem Rifugio zum Singletrail mit kurzen Schiebepassagen. Hat man den Gipfel des Matajur erklommen, hält man sich in Richung Stuppiza, anfangs sind einige knifflige Kletterpassagen zu bewältigen, aber bereits nach ca. 100hm kann man sich wieder in den Sattel schwingen und es beginnt ein größtenteils fahrbarer, streckenweise durchaus anspruchsvoller Traumtrail vorbei an schönen Almgebieten und am Ende immer durch den Wald, bis man letztlich an einer Asphaltstraße mündet. Dieser folgt man nach links bis zu einem Abzweig auf eine weitere, schöne Singletrail- passage, die einen bis nach Costa führt. Hier hat der Spaß dann leider ein Ende. Der Rest der Tour ist fahrtechnisch eher reizloses, zumindest landschaftlich durchaus ansprechendes Höhenmeterfressen, größtenteils auf Asphalt, von Costa durch hügeliges Gelände immer bergauf und bergab durch mehrere Bergnester, bis man schliesslich kurz vor Livek wieder die slowenische Grenze überschreitet und auf der Anfahrtsroute zurück nach Kobarid gelangt. It begins in Kobarid with a short passage to roll Idrsko where it right up to a pretty crisp 600hm asphalt increase goes Livek and Avsa. Shortly after the small town of the asphalt ends, and a fairly good gravel road leads through moderately deciduous forests and alpine pastures in small but steady uphill. With increasing height, the distance is noticeably rougher, but is easily movable. A green gate marked finally the border with Italy, from here the path to the grassy cart track and just before the Rifugio on singletrack with short sliding passages. If you have reached the summit of Matajur, you stick in Richung Stuppiza, initially some tricky climbs are manageable, but after about 100hm you can swing back in the saddle and it begins a mostly wheeled, in parts quite challenging dream Trail past beautiful alpine pastures and over until you ultimately leads through the forest at the end of a paved road. Follow this road to the left up to a branch to another, beautiful Singletrail- passage that leads one to Costa. This is where the fun has unfortunately ended. The rest of the tour is technically rather unattractive, at least scenically quite attractive altitude food, mostly on asphalt, Costa through hilly terrain uphill and downhill through several mountain nests, until finally again exceeds the Slovenian border shortly before Livek and on the approach route back to Kobarid passes.
