partenza dalla stazione ferroviaria e ritorno allo stesso punto.percorso adatto anche in inverno e con tempo incerto.partiamo seguendo la traccia(direzione Biccari) poi all'incrocio con la statale 17 giriamo a dx(indicazioni campobasso).dopo poche centinaia di metri ancora a sx per evitare tutta la statale e proseguiamo per una strada asfaltata denominata "CTL" che fiancheggia poderi e case di campagna.seguendo la traccia raggiungiamo dopo una discesa sempre in asfalto la masseria Casanova che possiamo vedere sulla sx,passiamo la strada brecciata che la raggiunge,anche la seconda sempre a sx,e ci riportiamo sulla statale 17 salendo il ponte e prendendo direzione Campobasso proprio per evitare zone fangose.(in periodi asciutti è possibile percorrere la variante in breccia che evita la statale prendendo la seconda a sx dopo la masseria Casanova).procediamo sulla statale e dopo circa 3,5 km giriamo a sx seguendo la traccia gps verso la località Serrone dove inizia la prima salita.successivamente si prosegue per circa 8 km seguendo la strada tra masserie e tratti di bosco,in direzione Alberona in leggero falsopiano e sempre su asfalto.incrociando così la strada principale che porta ad Alberona,saliamo girando a dx appena incontriamo una strada in cemento e con un'ascesa abbastanza impegnativa(28%).fortunatamente dura poche centinaia di metri,passiamo davanti ai depuratori e riprendiamo fiato sbucando nuovamente sulla strada principale.proseguiamo ancora salendo leggermente e riprendiamo sempre a dx una strada fatta di sanpietrini che ci apre alle prime case del paese.qui iniziano circa 600 m di salita continua con punte del 30% passando in stradine tra casette,vicoletti e scorci davvero caratteristici.si sbuca nei pressi della Chiesa Madre e ancora una salita verso il centro del paese(720m slm).proseguiamo a dx e,per chi necessita,può effettuare un break nei pressi dei "pisciarelli"dove c'è una fonte sempre aperta di acqua potabile.raggiungiamo dalla fonte,seguendo sempre la traccia,una viuzza a dx anch'essa molto ripida solo per i primi metri,poi, una volta raggiunta la strada per Volturino, proseguiamo per 6,5 km in leggero falsopiano fino a svoltare a dx nei pressi delle pale eoliche e del cartello dei sentieri indicante S.Maria della Serritella.da qui inizia una lunga discesa (5,5 km)con tratti molto veloci in sterrato,passando nei pressi di una masseria e poi tagliando nel bosco del Marano.continuiamo sulla destra per il ritorno,direzione Serrone,discesa con le griglie,masseria con i due cani pastori(abbaiano ma non mordono....finora!)e sbuchiamo sulla strada Tertiveri-Berardinone-Lucera.da qui 8 km di leggera discesa ci riportano al ponte con la statale 17 e alla strada da cui siamo partiti.
