Trail Description

South of Matter castle lie in the central Burgenland Landseer mountains, and who would have thought that they harbor some very appealing mountain biking. In the course of the MTB project south of Lower Austria Alpin also this for mountain bikers far more remote land was made available. The presented tour to the ruins inland lake formed by the combination of marked Martini and Heidriegel routes and has the advantage to start in conveniently located on the S31 market St. Martin. What initially began as a sightseeing very quiet through pretty villages of Burgenland, developed in the course of the round. Suddenly a stream crossing, a short crisp rise, a single trail to the Rabnitz along, finally a tight asphalt driveway by inland lake and on to the ruins inland lake whose imposing walls can even be seen from a distance. The fortress is the largest ruin plant in Central Europe. The visit (2,50Euro-2005) including ascent of the new observation tower is certainly recommended! The tour culminates on the ruins inland lake in a remarkable departure from its technical difficulty which is a Befahrung only the specialists recommended. The entrance is a little hard to find (waypoint "ABZW LI") The tour shows clearly: Burgenland and mountain biking are not contradictory! The tour was presented in the mountain Revue 2004 (Tour 147)
