Der Startpunkt ist in Ilanz, etwa 35 km westlich von Chur Richtung Disentis. Neben dem Friedhof hat es Gartisparkplätze. Auf Teerstrassen mit wenig Verkehr geht es über Versam nach Safien Thalkirch. Nach einigen Kilometern auf einer Naturstrasse erreicht man das Turrahaus. Letzte Chance zum noch ein paar Kohlenhydrate nachzufüllen. Die nächsten 700 Höhenmeter geht es dann mal fahrend und mal stossend auf den 2412 Meter hohen Tomülpass. Ende Juni lag noch Schnee und es war freeeezing, Jacke einpacken lohnt sich! Endlich folgt ein flowiger und fast endloser Singletrail, der praktisch durchgehend fahrbar ist. Zuerst über der Baumgrenze, dann im Wald und zum Schluss quer durch Wiesen fährt man runter bis nach Vals. Die letzten 20 Kilometer geht es auf der Teerstrasse retour nach Ilanz.

After a few kilometers on a dirt road to reach the Turrahaus. Last chance to even refill a few carbohydrates. The next 700 meters, it goes then times driving times and pushing on the 2412 meter high Tomülpass. The end of June was still snow and it was freeeezing, wrap jacket is worth it! Finally follows a flowiger and almost endless singletrack, which is practically continuous mobile. First, above the tree line, then in the forest, and finally across meadows you drive down to to Vals. The last 20 km it comes to the tar road back to Ilanz.
