Uno degli itinerari più belli nei dintorni di Merano, sempre che vi piacciano le discese tecniche ed impegnative! Da Merano si raggiunge la funivia di Merano 2000 (attenzione, chiusa per tutto il 2010) o si sale lungo la strada per Avelengo-Falzeben. Dalla stazione a monte della funivia si raggiunge il rifugio Merano e da qui, lungo un panoramico sentiero in cresta, arriviamo alla malga di Verano. Qui inizia il sentiero 2 che, seguito integralmente, ci riporterà fino a Merano. Attenzione, il sentiero presenta tratti molto tecnici con radici e sassi, che faranno la gioia dei bikers con sospensioni generose, chi non se la sentisse può scendere lungo la bella forestale e alla fine su asfalto fino a valle
