Dopo poche pedalate su sterrato dal punto di partenza si incontra un borgo rurale che è rimasto quasi intatto nel tempo e sulla sinistra abbiamo la possibilità di rinfrescarci con una fonte che sgorga direttamente dalle rocce sovrastanti. dal bivio Al bivio successivo prendere a sinistra e proseguire in saliscendi (incontriamo un'altra fontana) fino alla fine della sterrata, segnalata da una costruzione bassa dell'acquedotto. Qui si possono lasciare le bici per completare il restante percorso a piedi. Un cartello in legno segnala la direzione da seguire per raggiungere la cascata tramite una mulattiera in verità un pò dissestata, anche a causa dei movimenti franosi che caratterizzano tutta la zona della gola scavata dal fiume Longi nei secoli. Si scende quindi verso il corso d'acqua e, guidati dal rumore della cascata si giunge in una cavità naturale scavata dall'acqua (detta Marmitta dei Giganti) che è sovrastata dalla cascata alta circa 30 m. In periodi invernali la portata della cascata è davvero imponente, mentre nei periodi pre-estivi è possibile addentrarsi e godere della frescura. Dopo l'escursione si può tornare sui propri passi e risalire la sterrata, ripercorrendo a ritroso la strada sin qui fatta.
