Straordinaria escursione all mountain sul Gran Sasso. Consigliata agli amanti del “portage”. Consta di una primo tratto pedalabile ossia quello che, su bitume, dal Lago di Provvidenza arriva al bivio per la Sorgente di San Franco ed il successivo, su carrareccia panoramica, che si inerpica al Passo del Belvedere. Per un sentiero a mezza costa, alternato da tratti non pedalabili si aggira il Monte Jenca andando ad esplorare le pendici del Morrone situato tra lo stesso Jenca a la Val Chiarino. Giunti al Lago di Camarda si guadagna la vetta del Pizzo omonimo per poi discendere sulla formidabile cresta montuosa che più avanti risale alla Sella delle Malecoste. Ivi giunti inizia il tratto più impegnativo di portage che conduce alla Cima della Malecoste (quota 2444m). La discesa si svolge dapprima su cresta procedendo in direzione della Cima Giovanni Paolo II ma improvvisamente deviamo a sx inventando una traccia che sprofonda nell’alto Venacquaro e porta a ridosso delle imponenti pareti rocciose della Malecoste. Intercettiamo il flebile e ripidissimo sentiero che si innalza fin sulla Forchetta della Falasca per poi lanciarci in una difficile passaggio nella Valle del Chiarino. Virando verso dx ci agganciamo ai sentieri che scendono dalla Sella del Corvo e da quella del Venacquaro per proseguire di gran carriera lungo l’intero Fosso del Chiarino e chiudere questo grandioso anello al Lago di Provvidenza.

It consists of a first part that is what I pedaled on bitumen, from Lake Providence reach the junction for the Source of San Franco and the next, onto the track overview, which climbs the Passo del Belvedere. For a path half, alternating strokes not for cycling is around Mount Jenca going to explore the slopes of Morrone located between the same Jenca in Val Chiarino. Once at Lake Camarda you gain the summit of Pizzo namesake and then descend on the formidable ridge that later goes back to the Sella Malecoste. Once there begins the most challenging portage leading to the Top of Malecoste (altitude 2444m). The descent takes place first on the crest proceeding in the direction of the Cima John Paul II but suddenly we turn left inventing a track that sinks in high Venacquaro door and close to the imposing cliffs of Malecoste. We intercept the weak and steep trail that rises on the right fork of Falasca and then launch into a difficult passage in the Valley of Chiarino. Veering towards the right we engage trails that descend from Sella del Corvo and that of Venacquaro continue to gallop along the entire Ditch the Chiarino and close this magnificent ring at Lake Providence.
