Pochi posti del Parco dei Nebrodi racchiudono in se tutto il fascino della natura selvaggia e della quiete montana unita alla bellezza dei panorami come le Rocche del Crasto: formazioni rocciose di natura calcarea che si stagliano con 5 picchi fondamentali (da nord a sud ) : Rocca Traùra (1005 m. s.l.m.), Rocca che Parla (1253 m. s.l.m.), Rocca del Crasto (1315 m. s.l.m.), Pizzo Aglio (1251 m. s.l.m.) e Rocca Calanna (1052 m. s.l.m.). Per la loro inaccessibilità sono state scelte da predatori rapaci per la nidificazione : l'aquila reale sulla Rocca Calanna e l'avvoltoio grifone (ottimamente reinserito dopo la sua estinzione negli anni '50) nella zona della Rocca Traùra.
Il percorso propone l'ascesa dall'abitato di Alcara Li Fusi fino alla Sorgente Malirò, per poi affacciarsi sul versante opposto e scendere verso l'abitato di Longi e la vallata del Fitalia. Il percorso ha inizio alla storica Fontana Abate di Alcara Li Fusi, ottimo punto per rifornirci di acqua freschissima e abbondante. Da qui proseguiamo fino all'uscita del paese per girare a sinistra al bivio che ci porta in quota. Pochi tornanti e la strada comincia a salire, per ora ancora asfaltata : sotto di noi si vede Alcara con la torre del Castello Turiano, mentre sopra di noi si innalzano i picchi delle Rocche : siamo nel cosiddetto Borgo Stella, villaggio pastorale dalle caratteristiche costruzioni. Poco più su la strada diventa sterrata, a tratti cementificata per favorire i mezzi a motore, e le pendenze sono molto elevate. Al bivio dove è presente un abbeveratoio abbiamo due possibilità : a sinistra la strada prosegue isoquota per un tratto per poi continuare a salire con un tracciato largo e abbastanza praticabile; a destra la salita è invece più ripida e il fondo è a tratti così sconnesso da costringere a scendere dal sellino. Le due tracce si ritrovano più su, e dopo poche pedalate si giunge alla Sorgente Malirò, da dove si può scendere in direzione di San Marco D'Alunzio. Dopo una sosta decidiamo invece di proseguire verso la Rocca che Parla (cosiddetta per l'eco che si può sentire nelle sue vicinanze) e da lì scendere verso l'abitato di Longi passando dal borgo "Case Filippelli". La prima metà della discesa (3 km in tutto) è su un fondo molto accidentato e ripidissimo; la seconda metà che porta fino al paese è asfaltata ma ancora più ripida!
Da Longi si prosegue poi sulla strada provinciale in direzione di Rocca di Caprileone, ma arrivati sotto il Convento di Fragalà, alla fontana sulla provinciale si svolta a destra in discesa e si prosegue dai 600 m. s.l.m. fino ai 200 circa con molti tornanti su un fondo abbastanza malandato( asfalto in parte saltato, pietre e brecciolini). Arrivati in fondo alla discesa si prosegue su uno sterrato che costeggia la fiumara di Longi per un lungo tratto e si ricongiunge alla strada a scorrimento veloce che ci porta a Rocca di Caprileone.

Few places of Nebrodi enclose all the charm of the wild and the quiet mountain combined with the beauty of the landscape as the Rocche del Crasto: rock formations of limestone peaks that rise with 5 fundamental (north to south): Rocca Traùra (1005 masl), which speaks Rocca (1253 masl), Rocca del Crasto (1315 masl), Garlic Pizzo (1251 masl) and Rocca Calanna (1052 m). Because of their inaccessibility were chosen from predators for nesting raptors: golden eagle on the Rock Calanna and the griffon vulture (well reinserted after its extinction in the 50s) in the area of ??the Rock Traùra.
The route offers the ascent from the town of Alcara Li Fusi Malirò to the source, and then appear on the other side and go down to the village of Longi and the valley of Cavalieri. The route begins at the historic Fountain Abbot of Alcara Li Fusi, good place to stock up on fresh water and plentiful. From here we continue to the exit of the country to turn left at the fork in the road that takes us to share. A few switchbacks and the road begins to climb, which is still paved: below us we see Alcara with the tower of the Castle Turiano, while above us rise the peaks of Fortresses: we are in the so-called Borgo Stella, pastoral village on the characteristics buildings. A little further on the road becomes a dirt road, sometimes cementified to favor motor vehicles, and the gradients are very high. At the junction where there is a watering hole we have two possibilities: to the left, the road continues isoquota for a while and then continue to rise with a wide track and quite practicable; to the right the slope is more steep and the bottom is uneven at times so as to force to get off the saddle. The two tracks are found higher up, and after a few rides will take you to the Source Malirò, from where you can go in the direction of San Marco D'Alunzio. After a break we decided instead of going to the Rock that Speaks (so-called for the echo that can be heard in its vicinity) and then descend to the village of Longi going from village "Case Filippelli." The first half of the descent (3 km across) is on the bottom of a very steep and rugged; the second half leading to the village is paved but even steeper!
Longi Since then continue on the main road in the direction of Rocca di Caprileone, but arrived in the Convent of Fragalà, the fountain on the main road, turn right into down and go from 600 m. s.l.m. up to 200 meters with many hairpin turns on a pretty background shabby (partially blown asphalt, stone and brecciolini). Arrived at the bottom of the hill continue on a dirt road that runs along the torrent of Longi for a long stretch and rejoins the freeway that leads us to the Rock of Caprileone.
