Trail Description

An area never explored to date, which has reserved a very pleasant and unexpected surprise: the Tower of Cavallirio with a wonderful view.
Confess! I had never heard of the Tower of Cavallirio, ancient ruins covered by vegetation and then hidden in every research and exploration of the area, after all the treasures are always well guarded and protected.
The whole day was initiated with the aim of exploring new paths in the surroundings of Maggiora, also because of the beautiful sunny day and warm today. Childbirth by Grignasco and then I go from Traversagna in the direction of Boca. After the brow take right now to avoid the asphalt and dirt in taking a nice gentle slope (Finazzi House) at the top of the hill with a beautiful pink villa. I'm in the vineyards of Boca and begin to descend, meeting just ahead a little cobbled street, the end of which I take right continuing to ride your bike in the vineyards of this beautiful land. Then I reach a crossroads where I take a left starting to go down (784), with the intent to go to the shrine and continue to Boca and Maggiora.
But it was during this descent that I find on the right a path that branches off in strong climb with indications of a foot race and a sign AVIS MTB! Nothing more appetizing: this is a path never traveled and with these indications deserves to be explored. Later begins the descent technique the right that leads me to go out on a wider jeeppabile (785) that I decided to take to right. A little further on MTB meeting the sign that indicates a steep path on the left. I push uphill stretches alternating with other pedaled a bike to the side for about 10 min., Until you reach a false floor that will take a left and follow the signs for MTB. Continuation of single-trail on a slight slope and wider reach another dirt road with lots of signs of trails and written with a "Tower". What intrigues me (who knows if it will come back again to these roads) and then decided to follow the signs. After a short but steep climb I find myself in front of this magnificent ruin: I have to get to! The gate is locked with a padlock, but the low fence can not stop; abandon the bike, climb over and after a few meters I reach the tower, climb the stairs and when they are at its top a beautiful landscape (to Boca, the sanctuary, the hills and vineyards), which, like a punch in the stomach, takes my breath away ! I contemplate in silence and soon I wonder why this heavenly place is totally unknown. With the promise of bringing my wife (love trekking) reluctantly abandoned the site, I take the bike and start to fall backwards retracing the path until you see signs before, right where I continue thinking of reaching Cavallirio. But I find un'agricoltore to whom I ask directions to other trails to stay out of the country. A little further shows me a path on the right, take it and keep pedaling passing under a building and reaching the 785, keep left. Meeting the asphalt (for very little) and take a right passing on a bridge that passes a stream and a little further meeting cartels AVIS road race and MTB. I follow them, the road goes uphill and taking the 784, I reach the path again did in the beginning. Ripasso in the vineyards of Boca but this time on the road uphill until you reach again the Traversagna and Grignasco.
