Trail Description

Ulteriori informazioni a.

More information.

The tour starts on the path that leads to the Val Pusteria San Candido, where he began the rise that marks the route initially is rather uneven with steep sections that alternate with falsopiani and slight downhills, later becoming firmer to the refuge Jager ; the forest rears then boldly going up the ski slope, presenting steep slopes that make the climb not cycle for short distances.
In view of the refuge Helm slopes back easy, with the ascent that continues touching the refuge Gallo Cedrone and continuing on a gradually more uneven to engage on an easy trail to the ridge at the foot of Monte Elmo. The summit, which is only a few minutes, can be reached by following the trail that climbs to the left towards the old meteorological observatory from which the view extends in every direction from the Val Pusteria Valley Sixth, the Grossglockner heart of the Dolomites, with plenty of paying efforts to get up here.
The ridge trail, narrow and partially exposed but the technical difficulties are not particularly high, making a long traverse panoramic on the border towards the pass Leckfeldsattel; a steep ramp you come to the shelter to Sillianer, the highest point of the tour and invaluable point of refreshment.
The route continues on steep and rough trail (trail 471), which falls between the pastures of the Austrian side up the refuge Leckfeld, then continuing on a more compact in the north woods of Monte Elmo. With slopes more gentle and some short ascents we come in sight of the border when the trail ends, go into the woods for a few hundred meters returning to the Italian territory, found another carriage road, which you follow in rapid descent back to Versciaco.
