Trail Description

Ostseite, also früh sonnig.

A variant of the Zinkenkogel route, already introduced over 10 years ago on the mountain bike maps of the Austrian Federal Forests. In my round trip featured here previously but not yet driven, at least not presented in gps-tour.info. A round trip high above the Salzach valley between Hallein and Golling with beautiful view of the Tennen Mountains and in the Osterhorngruppe. East side, so early sunny. Steep up and downhill and between them a long shift piece. Who wants his bike absolutely not push or carry, stays away from this path. Parking in the center of Hallein on a toll-free PP behind BILA. I followed various signposted MTB tours, the first Göllrunde. It goes straight to the point, on a small Teersträßchen screwed to the first 500 Hm up, past the lift-PP in Durnberg to the last PP, there begins the gravel road. It crosses the tines-eastern slope and reached the Truckenthannalm (a strange name: Dry-fir-Alm). Here is an end to the (forest) roads. It goes steeply up to a Almkreuz. The steep meadows I pushed the wheel forces gently zigzag, like a climb track in winter. Then it & rsquo s always more or less along the slope. A rope helps a crossing of the rising creek, the road is only partially feet wide. The turnoff to Nesslangeralm allowed to lie to the left. Although these Alm no 200 m below the path, I have not seen her in thick fog. My goal was to Leitenalm, the last few meters you can ski to her. Important Note: According to the GPS I needed for the slide distance, 250 Hm and 2 km, 40 minutes. Who does not want to push and carry repent. But this is a good workout for a Transalp. For me, the floor was very slippery and soggy. From the Leitenalm goes & rsquo s on a frost highway (with a small trail) to the Tauern bike path all downhill. It is the first farm (Elise) on the locking plate over (Private, enter and drive prohibited). Because of this sign, the round should not be driven in a clockwise direction. Coming from above, no one can have something about it! Now the 8 km to the Tauern cycle path to Hallein back, the circle is closed. Time: 2 hours on the bike plus the sliding time of 40 min.
