Der Walchensee: Der Walchensee ist einer der tiefsten (maximale Tiefe: 192,3 m) und zugleich einer der größten Alpenseen Deutschlands. Am 24. April 1945 wurde von der Wehrmacht und Beamten der Reichsbank zumindest ein Teil der letzten Reserven der Deutschen Reichsbank nach Einsiedl, einer kleinen Siedlung am Südwestufer, gebracht und anschließend an unbekanntem Ort auf dem Steinriegel vergraben. Es handelte sich dabei um 365 Säcke mit Goldbarren und Bargeld, die im Juni 1945 an die Alliierten übergeben wurden. Es fehlten jedoch 100 Goldbarren sowie Bargeld. Bis heute wird über deren Existenz und genaue Lage spekuliert. Aufgrund seines reizvollen Aussehens diente der Walchensee bereits mehrmals als Drehort, vor allem für Filme mit historischen Themen. 2008 drehte der Regisseur Michael Herbig dort die Realverfilmung von Wickie und die starken Männer. Zu diesem Zwecke wurde dort das Wikingerdorf Flake errichtet. Vom Wikingerdorf sind nach Ende der Dreharbeiten sechs der Hütten am See verblieben. Am Seegrund befinden sich mehrere Wracks, unter anderem auch die von drei Flugzeugen sowie einem VW Käfer :-) Das klare Gewässer verdankt seine tolle türkis-grüne Färbung dem relativ hohen Anteil an Kalziumkarbonat. Wohl auch aufgrund des Motorbootverbots entspricht das Wasser des Walchensees der Gewässergüteklasse I (=unbelastet). Der Herzogstand liegt mit 1731 m ü. NN nordwestlich des Walchensees. Tourbeschreibung: Ausgangsort der Tour ist der Ort Walchensee am gleichnamigen Walchensee. Die Auffahrt bis zum Berggasthaus Herzogstand geht über eine gut zu fahrende Forststraße, die allerdings an einigen Stellen anspruchsvoll steil ist. Eine gute Einkehrmöglichkeit bietet das Berggasthaus Herzogstand auf 1575 m ü. NN. Hier endet der aufgezeichnete Track. Wer will kann die letzten Meter bis zum Gipfel (in Sichtweite vom Berggasthaus) das Rad schieben. Da eine Seilbahn zum Bergasthof führt pilgern oder wabbeln jedoch viele Wanderer vom Berggasthaus Herzogstand die letzten Meter hoch zum Herzogstand. Die Trackaufzeichnung wurde vom Ausgangsort Walchensee gestartet und am Berggasthof Herzogstand beendet (11 km, ca. 2 Stunden Auffahrt incl. kurze Pausen für Aussicht), zurück wurde die gleiche Strecke gefahren, so dass Gesamtdistanz 22 km. Incl. Zeit zum Weißwurst essen ab Bergasthof und Abfahrt zurück nach Walchensee ist 3:30 als Gesamtlänge angegeben incl. Pausen.

The Walchensee: Walchensee is one of the deepest (maximum depth: 192.3 m) and at the same time & nbsp; one of the largest alpine lakes in Germany. A good Refreshments offers mountain inn Duke stand at 1575 m above sea level. NN. Here ends the recorded track.
