Vorab: Das ist keine durchgehende Mountainbiketour, nur der Teil ab Pisweg ist eine ausgesprochene Bike-Strecke, auch die innere Wimitz hat eine Schotterstrasse, wo ein Bike besser unterwegs ist. Wir fuhren ab Friesach (S-Bahn von Klagenfurt) auf dem R7 über Hirt ins Gurktal, dort auf dem R5B bis Gurk. Von dort geht es auf der Landesstrasse z.T. steil bergauf nach Pisweg (960m). Weiter auf der Landesstrasse Richtung Weitensfeld mit kürzeren Auf-Ab-Abschnitten bis zur Abzweigung des Hemmaweges Richtung Zammelsberg. Ab hier Waldstrecke mit zum Teil schwierigem Gelände bis zur Strasse, die von Weitensfeld kommend Zammelsberg erreicht. Von hier auf Asphaltstrasse hinunter ins Tal der Wimitz und die Radroute R5A, die über Innere Wimitz (Naturschutzgebiet mit vielen Schmetterlingen) auf Schotterstrasse bergab zur Äußeren Wimitz führt und vor Kraig über eine Steigstrecke aus dem Wimitztal heraus nach Kraig führt. Von dort weiter wieder bergab auf dem R5A nach Hunnenbrunn, der hier endet und auf dem R7 nach St. Veit an der Glan, wo wir mit der S-Bahn zurück nach Klagenfurt fuhren.

Caveat: This is not a solid mountain bike tour, only the part from Pisweg is a marked bike route, and the inner Wimitz has a gravel road, where a bike is better on the road. We drove from Friesach (S-Bahn from Klagenfurt) on the R7 & nbsp; Hirt on the Gurktal, there on the R5B to Gurk. From there z.T. on the country road steeply uphill to Pisweg (960m). Next on the country road to Weitensfeld with shorter up-sections up to the junction of the Hemma path direction Zammelsberg. From here the forest path with partly difficult terrain to the road that reaches from Weitensfeld Coming Zammelsberg. From here down on asphalt road into the valley of Wimitz and the cycle route R5A, on the inside Wimitz (nature reserve with many butterflies) on gravel road downhill to the exterior Wimitz leads and leads before Kraig via an ascending route from the Wimitztal out by Kraig. From there, continue downhill on the R5A by Huns Brunn ending here and on the R7 to St. Veit an der Glan, where we took the train back to Klagenfurt.
