Trasa wyscigu prowadzi przez polozony po wschodniej stronie Marek las – pomiedzy miastem a droga wojewódzka nr 631 (Rembertów - Nieporet). Obszar dzisiejszego lasu dawniej stanowil tereny kopalni gliny i piachu dla potrzeb licznych cegielni. Dzieki temu trasa jest zróznicowana terenowo: biegnie po dawnych gliniankach, wydmach, wzdluz rekultywowanych kopalni oraz w torfowych okolicach malowniczego jeziora Kruczek i rezerwatu „Horowe Bagno”. Sciezki sa ciasne, zrosniete krzewami i chwastami, nierzadko piaszczyste – i w tym równiez ich niepowtarzalny urok. Ta trasa to niemal cala historia Pustelnika (aktualnie dzielnicy Marek) ukryta w gestych zaroslach. Tu, w licznych cegielniach, powstawala slawna od XIX pustelnicka cegla, hitlerowcy zorganizowali obóz koncentracyjny, a w przeddzien Powstania Warszawskiego dokonali okrutnego mordu na mieszkancach okolicznych miejscowosci. Dzis istniej jeszcze w tej okolicy kilka czynnych cegielni, jednak najwieksza, choc malo znana, atrakcja jest wyjatkowo czyste jezioro Kruczek, szczycace sie wlasciwosciami leczniczymi – borowiny.
