Grindelwald is at the foot of the Eiger, nestled between Wetterhorn and Jungfrau. This bike trip took us up a long forest road climb of over 3000 feet in less than 10 miles to the station at Kleine Schiedegg. Although the trip record say almost 8 hours it is was really only about 4 hours of riding. Once arriving at KS we parked the bikes and took the world famous alpine train into the mountains. Literally this train takes you into the mountain and up to Jungfraujoch the "Top of Europe" at 11,760 feet. The train takes you to the High Altitude Research Station where we had lunch and walked through the exhibits and toured the Ice Palace carved into the glacier.
