Il percorso segue la classica Pra Catinat- Assietta, ma con alcune personali varianti e utili segnalazioni per i biker derivanti dalla mia personale esperienza in loco.Consiglio di evitare i mesi di luglio e agosto perchè spesso la strada è chiusa per manifestazioni varie oppure piena di macchine e moto. Consiglio quindi i mesi giugno o settembre. Il percorso pur splendido è molto esposto al sole. All'opposto sviluppandosi sino e oltre i 2500m potrebbe calare velocemente la nebbia oppure pioggia gelida (come capitato a me). Si può raggiungere Pra Catinat su comoda (ma stretta, prudenza!) strada asfaltata da Depot, prima di Fenestrelle.Da Pra Catinat incomincia lo sterrato, se avete un'auto bassa consiglio di fermarvi al waypoint Fonta01+Park01 limite dell'asfalto. In questo punto è presente una bella fontana di acqua fresca.Se volete abbreviare l'itinerario come ho fatto io consiglio di partire in bici dal punto Park02 o ancora meglio Fonta02+Park03 dove oltre al parcheggio troverete un'altra fontana.Lo sterrato è praticabile senza problemi da ciclisti medi purchè allenati.Itinerario lungo 37,8km complessivi partenza eritorno dal waypoint Park02.5% asfaltato; 95% sterrato. Lo sterrato è praticabile senza problemi da ciclisti medi purchè allenati.Salite fattibili, intorno al 9%, bei tratti in piano per recuperare.Raggiungere il colle Assietta a 2472m vi darà una gran soddisfazione: grandiosa vista dei monti circostanti.Dal Colle dell'Assietta uno sforzo aggiuntivo (4,3km) vi farà raggiungere il colle Lauson, da cui si può ammirare l'omonimo lago sottostante (60m più in basso) oltre naturalmente alle belle vallate. Tra i due colli monumenti e fortificazioni a testimonianza del passato militare della zona. Dislivello in salita: circa 1000m.In alternativa potreste raggiungere comodamente su altra strada asfaltata il waypoint Piandell'Alpe arrivando in auto da Pourriere. In questo caso il percorso si abbrevia ma vi perdereste alcuni bei tratti panoramici.Beitratti panoramici lungo tutto il percorso. The route follows the classic Pra Catinat- Assietta, but with a few personal variations and useful reports for bikers arising from my personal experience in loco.Consiglio to avoid the months of July and August because the road is often closed for various events or full of cars and motorcycles. so I would recommend the months June or September. The route is very beautiful even in the sun. Conversely growing up and over the 2500m could quickly drop the fog or freezing rain (as happened to me). You can reach Pra Catinat on an easy (but narrow, carefully!) Paved road from Depot before Fenestrelle.Da Pra Catinat begins the dirt road, if you have a low recommend staying at the waypoint Fonta01 + Park01 asphalt limit.
