Trail Description

horseback tour of France and Italy, along the Bevera Valley and some of its side valleys. The beautiful Vallon de Bassera above Sospel is the true center of this long ride and worth every effort. The country of Piene Haute is the icing on the cake, distinctive and incredibly overhanging the Roya Valley. The track starts from Trucco, but the fact you could easily start from Airole to make a complete ring. From Airole take the path towards books that runs along the left bank of the Roya (beautiful and simple, for the Roya Valley standards), reached Fanghetto you leave it and go down to the valley floor State. From here begins the climb that leads to Olivetta first and then in Sospel. In France, the music changes, the trails are well marked and there never feels abandoned to themselves: the danger points are indicated and the trails are clean. Cry from the Italian side of the valley! Anyway, take the nature trail that runs in Bevera and comes out lower valley just before Sospel. From here you climb to the Col du Perus GR52A where you take the path that runs along the fabulous Bassera rio. At the bottom of the track it goes up to Piene Haute along a road not too steep. As for the descent from Piene I followed a fairly complex track, entirely cycle, but that requires trialistiche skills. Waypoint dx2 But you can go down the hill to the left which brings to Olivetta-Sospel road, less complicata.Arte: Olivetta, the botanical path of Bevera at Sospel, the countries of Sospel and Piene HauteNatura: Bassera the valley and many of ingrottamenti its river, the hills typically parched overlooking the roya river, the botanical path of SospelDifficoltà: a large part of the tour takes place on the sunny slopes on asphalt, but the slopes are not particularly difficult. Only exception descent from Piene Haute that is particularly rugged and exposed. It 'still possible to go to an alternative route from Piene, along a path slightly less difficult before the challenging stretch (dx2 waypoints to turn left instead of right, and you come back onto Olivetta-Sospel road made the first leg). In general in the French where it is reported danger really pay attention or accompany the bike, since the trail in some parts is really tight and sheer above the ingrottamenti of Bassera rio.
Move a document; the Olivetta crossing is closed for some time, but even if difficult may ask documents in France. Handy to have map for Garmin GPS Topo 3 Provence Côte d'Azur Méditerranée
