Temperature was nice, 17C and mostly sunny.I headed to the Kunderberg first to find a missing geocache (GCMA1D) but after arriving at the location I was not able to find it.Then I decided to go somewhere I haven't been before: beyond Bocholz towards Aachen and then make a tour via Vaals. The highlights of what I saw:The wind turbines near Vettschau are awesome. You can actually *hear* the big blade tips cleave through the wind, swish swish! Germany is investing heavily in wind energy...I was pleasantly surprised to find some remains of what used to be a very big defense wall from the 1st World War: the so called Siegfriedstellung. This wall that was supposed to hold off the stretched from Kleve near Nijmegen all the way down to Switzerland, along the German border with the Netherlands and France. This time of year you can see lots of rapeseed fields blooming, giving nice contrasts with the green grass. Rapeseed is used to produce oil. When you see the University Hospital Aachen (aka das Klinikum) for the first time you think it's some sort of chemical plant... The pipes you see on the outside are actually ventilation pipes.Photos: See all pictures and videos from GCMA1D & 2-country-tour
