Trail Description

We started off from the Red Canyon Campground along SB12, and rode the paved bike trail to Coyote Hollow and then started the loop at the Coyote Hollow TH. The initial ascent is slow going and quite a good warm up before hitting the main trail. My girlfriend was pretty tired before we even hit the trailhead, and then she got a bit discouraged realizing how much further she had to go.
I suggest the clockwise loop because it offers excellent downhill and technical switchbacks on the way down. The final 1.5 mile downhill back to the campground is awesome and well worth it. Take plenty of water and bike tools; there are very few riders out there to rely on for help. Pack a lunch and relax after the climb on the paved portion, or take a break at the summit where there is a nice overlook. If you are looking for an easier ride, shuttle by dropping a car off at the TH down in Red Canyon and drive up to the Coyote Hollow trailhead. Begin the ride from Coyote Hollow and bomb all the way back to your shuttle.
