E’ una traversata piuttosto impegnativa specie per coloro che non sono abituati al “portage”, l’unica arte che può permetterci di superare ostiche salite ed arrivare su vette che il comune biker sogna o contempla soltanto in foto. Partiamo dai pressi dell’abitato di Altovia e su comoda carrareccia raggiungiamo il Colle della Pietra ove insiste in Rifugio del Cegno. Importante è rifornirsi di acqua in quanto durante il tragitto non ne troveremo più. Prendiamo il sentiero di destra che traversa sopra il Fosso Malvese ed arriva al Monticello. Ivi giunti inizia un primo tratto in considerevole pendenza che più avanti si addolcisce. Trattasi dell’interminabile camminamento che arriva alla Cimata e prosegue fino in vetta. Circa tre ore di “portage” in compagnia del remoto Fosso del Tordino e del lontanissimo obiettivo che ci sembra irraggiungibile, camminando sul filo del burrone per evitare l’erba alta che rallenta l’ascesa. Toccata la vetta del Monte Gorzano la via di discesa rappresenta una “magic line”. La spettacolare cresta ovest, come una lama affilata, separa l’irreale Fosso di Ortanza dal Fosso del Gorzano. Discesi inizialmente da un punto ripido su ciotoli di arenaria, il sentiero, mai proibitivo, accarezza il lungo crinale in direzione del Colle Vacciuno per poi virare bruscamente a dx e scendere allo Stazzo del Gorzano. La traccia, sempre ben segnalata, offre trame flow ma anche apprezzabili passaggi tecnici. Dallo Stazzo del Gorzano si affronta la parte boschiva ossia anche la più impegnativa: il Bosco di Selva Grande, un luogo di rara bellezza. Il sentiero cala tortuoso e tecnico nell’omonimo fossato incrociando a valle il S.I. che porta a Capricchia. Giriamo a sx e seguendo le segnalazioni C.A.I. arriviamo a Sacro Cuore. Ancora a sx per un ultimo off road che si aggancia alla carrabile culminante nell’abitato di Capricchia. Esperienza di spessore, una cresta da annoverare tra le più belle della Laga, una discesa senza dubbio indimenticabile.

We start from the neighborhood of Altovia and comfortable cart reach the Colle della Pietra where insists in Refuge Cegno. It is important to stock up on water as on the way we will find it not. Take the right path, which crosses over the Fosso Malvese and arrives at Monticello. Once there begins a steep incline in the first section that further softens. These interminable walkway that reaches the sheared and continues up to the summit. About three hours of "portage" in the company's remote Fosso del Tordino and distant goal that seems unattainable, walking on the edge of the ravine to avoid tall grass that slows the rise. Reaching the summit of Mount Gorzano the descent route is a "magic line". The spectacular west ridge, like a sharp knife, separate the unreal from the Fosso del Fosso di Ortanza Gorzano. Initially descended from a steep sandstone pebbles on the path, never prohibitive, stroking along the ridge towards Colle Vacciuno then veer sharply to the right and get off at the Stazzo Gorzano. The track, always well marked, but it also offers plots flow appreciable technical passages. From the Stazzo Gorzano addressing the wooded part that is also the most challenging: the Bosco Selva Grande, a place of rare beauty. The trail winding creek and technical homonymous ditch crossing downstream SI which leads to Capricchia. We turn left and following the signs C.A.I. we arrive at the Sacred Heart. Left again for one last off road that clips to the driveway culminating in the village of Capricchia. Experience in thickness, a ridge to be considered among the most beautiful of Laga, a descent without doubt unforgettable.
