Itinerario stupendo che dalla Piana di Campo Felice a Massa d’Albe attraversa il massiccio montuoso dominato dal Monte Velino. Il punto di partenza è alla Vecchia Miniera. Si imbocca immediatamente un primo agevole tratto di carrareccia che porta alla miniera di bauxite abbandonata. La strada diviene più accidentata ed inizia a risalire l’intera Valle del Puzzillo. Al cospetto della Vena Stellante, del Costone e della Cimata di Puzzillo raggiungiamo il Rifugio Sebastiani ove inizia il sentiero che sale al Colle dell’Orso. Scendiamo alla sella che separa l’alta Val di Teve dalla Valle Majelama e puntiamo il Monte Bicchero. Un saliscendi mai troppo oneroso, alternando piccole discese e tratti in “portage”, conduce all’ultimo e più duro strappo in salita da affrontare per forza con bici a spalla. Guadagnata la Selletta Cafornia oramai l’omonima vetta è a portata di mano. Dalla sommità del Monte Cafornia si può ammirare un panorama a trecentosessanta gradi non solo su tutto il Parco Regionale del Velino Sirente ma anche sull’intera catena del Gran Sasso, su parte della Laga e sulla Majella per spaziare infine verso i Reatini e Sibillini, insomma uno dei più bei panorami d’Abruzzo. La discesa passa per la via direttissima del Cafornia (sent. 7/A), nella prima parte una via molto ripida, con fondo smosso, la quale precipita lungo la Costa di Cafornia. Il sentiero si addolcisce più a valle poi, tagliando verdi prati sino ad affacciarsi su balzi roccia, intercetta il sentiero 7. Ora la traccia è più evidente, più veloce, a tratti piacevolmente tecnica. Il bel single track porta diritto alla Fonte Canale dalla quale parte il rush finale che si snoda lungo una pista veloce culminante all’abitato di Massa d’Albe.

Route amazing that from the plain of Campo Felice a Massa d'Albe crosses the mountain range dominated by Mount Velino. The starting point is the Old Mine. You take an immediate easy first stretch of track leading to the bauxite mine abandoned. The road becomes rougher and start to climb the entire Valley Puzzillo. In the presence of Vena Stellante, the ridge and shorn of Puzzillo reach the Rifugio Sebastiani where begins the path that leads to the Bear Hill. We go down to the saddle that separates the high Val di teve from the Valley and we aim Majelama Mount Bicchero. A latch never too onerous, alternating small descents and stretches in "portage", leads to the last and hardest climb uphill from strength to deal with bike on the shoulder. Earned Harness Cafornia now the namesake peak is at hand. From the summit of Mount Cafornia you can admire a three hundred and sixty degrees, not only on the whole Velino Regional Park Sirente but also the entire chain of Gran Sasso, on the Laga and the Maiella to space eventually to the Sibillini Reatini and, in short, one of the most beautiful scenery in Abruzzo. The descent passes through the direct route via the Cafornia (sent. 7 / A), in the first part via a very steep, with loose surfaces, which rushes along the coast Cafornia. The trail is softened further downstream then, cutting green meadows up to appear on leaps rock, intercepts the path 7 Now the track is more obvious, faster, sometimes pleasantly technique. The beautiful single track leads right to the source channel from which part of the final push that winds along a fast track culminating village of Massa d'Albe.
