Herrliche aber anstrengende Tour, die mehr als 30km auf über 2000m dahin führt. Der Untergrund ist überwiegend gut zu fahren und wirklich steil ist es auch nur einmal. Im Hochsommer ist die Straße am Mittwoch und Samstag für Autos und Motorräder gesperrt, was Dir als Biker einiges an Staub beim notwendigen, tiefen Einatmen erspart. Unser Start war in Sestriere. Von dort geht’s erst mal ca. 25km bergab bis nach Fenestrelle bzw. Depot. Dort biegt man in die Straße zum Colle delle Finestre ab. Diese führt relativ lange auf Teer dahin. Immer wieder kann man einen Blick auf die Burg von Fenestrelle erhaschen, die sich aus dem Talgrund bis ca. 1700m mit einer Mauer und Türmen den Berg hinauf zieht. Kurz später endet auch der Teer. Auf 1900m zweigt man dann auf die Assietta Straße ab. Auf dem Weg gibt’s auch noch ein Lokal. Danach zieht sich die Straße gleichmäßig mit herrlichen Ausblicken auf die umgebende Bergwelt bis auf über 2500m zum Colle di Assietta und Testa di Assietta. Dann erst mal ein Stück runter, an einer im Hochsommer bewirtschafteten Hütte vorbei, um dann diesmal sehr steil zum Col Lauson auf wiederum 2500m zu kommen. Dort wieder lange runter geht’s relativ flach oberhalb von Sauze d‘ Oulx durch das Skigebiet, immer wieder den Mont Chaberton im Blick. Ein langer finaler Anstieg führt zum Col Basset schon nahe Sestriere. Dann bleibt nur noch die finale Abfahrt auf guter Fahrbahn zum Ausgangspunkt. Wunderschön, aber man braucht einen wirklich langen Atem.

Gorgeous but grueling tour that takes more than 30km to over 2000m then. The ground is mostly good to drive and really steep, it is also only once. In high summer the road is closed on Wednesdays and Saturdays for cars and motorcycles, which you spared some bikers to dust when necessary, taking deep breaths. Our start was in Sestriere. From there we & rsquo s first time about 25km downhill to Fenestrelle or custodian. Here, turn into the road to Colle delle Finestre. This results in relatively long on tar then. Again and again you can catch a glimpse of the castle of Fenestrelle running down to 1700m with a wall and towers, the mountain draws from the valley floor. Shortly afterwards also ends the tar. At 1900m then you turn off onto the Assietta road. On the way there & rsquo s also a local. Then the road winds evenly with magnificent views of the surrounding mountains to over 2500m to the Colle di Assietta and Testa di Assietta. Then take a first piece down, past a farmed in the summer hut, then very steeply to come this time to the Col Lauson turn on 2500m. There again long goes down & rsquo s relatively flat above Sauze d & lsquo; Oulx by the ski resort, Mont Chaberton always in view. A long final climb leads to the Col Basset already near Sestriere. Then only the final descent on good road remains the starting point. Beautifully, but it takes a really long breath.
