Trail Description

The tour starts at the parking Wimbachbrücke, where the entrance to the gorge is the same (for a fee). If the weather is fine, then the Watzmann shows in the driveway at its best. On my tour, he has always hidden behind the clouds and was visible in full only on departure. Follow the Aspahltstraße up to Schappachalm and then keep going up the forest road above the Kührointhütte. Between Schappach and Kühroint, from the branch to the Watzmann House (right), it is left a long steep section to overcome. Once you overcome this, it is not far to the highest point of the tour, above the Kührointhütte. The most beautiful view point of this tour is of course the " Archenkanzel " high above the King's Lake. It can be reached on foot in a few minutes after a lumber yard where you can park your bike. A stop at the hut is always worthwhile, mine has the Griesschmarrn particularly good. To visit the small church, one should take time. On metal panels can quot the names of all &; Crashed " read in this area. An impressive number! The way back is the same as the way out, the mileage is therefore to take twice.
