Trail Description

Character Beautiful round trip in the Sarn Valley with high alpine character driveway on Pichlbergalm and the panorama to Gedrumalm visit the Sanctuary Latzfonser Cross, one of the highest places of pilgrimage in Europe 45 minute shift time / distance to Fort Schell Charte Great, some challenging trails on the descent to Durnholz Return to Street Description You drive in Astfeld on the outskirts right direction Durnholz. After about 1.5km in long meadow, turn right onto side street. After the bend turn left again and after 20m turn right and on this tarmac road uphill. Continue at the end before the court by the left-hand bend on the forest. In the course of forest affected a pasture on the meadow and about 100m later you change left on the 22er trail. The path leads first across the slope and then the cart path, whereupon it briefly goes downhill. It eventually leads to a Forstwegkehre and travels right uphill. We arrive at a more Forstwegkehre and select the left branch and stay on the 22er route. It goes downhill to the valley floor of the Gedrumtals and after crossing the Gedrumbaches we drive on tar in the place clean forest. It opens into the main road and travels to her right up the hill. Steer at the valley station of the cable car Pichlberg before the car park left the restaurant Bärenhöhle past and on the tarred road uphill direction Pichlberg. After Sunnolm the background changes to gravel and it is gradually steeper. When Pichlbergalm (refreshments available) we the 11er route, which passes to proceed as forest under the pasture. We are always on the 11er, which to a great path (S1) later. In the course gets back on a dirt road branches off and soon left again on the 11er from. When Gedrumalm (refreshments available) the height path ends and we go to the local forest trail continues uphill. At the end of the gravel path can still be a bit on the climb uphill, but then you have about 10 minutes to move up to Lücklscharte. From the pass, you go downhill and you can sit (S2) and to Latzfonser Kreuzhütte (refreshments available) go back. Directly from the chapel leads to the narrow walkway below the 7 Series cabin over to Fort Schell Charter. The first few meters, you can still drive, but soon forces and a rocky passage for carrying the bikes. We spend the next 45min times pushing, sometimes supporting. Just before the pass, it will be more impassable and you have to wear oversized rock fracture uphill. the correct route is hardly recognizable. But eventually you reach the Fort Schell Charter and is in high alpine terrain, surrounded by nothing but mountains. From the Fort Schell Charte can go again (S2). We choose the 5 Series trail that slopes in a northerly direction into Großalmtal. We are always on the 5er and leave all branches are to the right. The descent is fun and the partially loose scree provides the necessary degree of difficulty. Shortly after Großalm it's over for now, unfortunately, and you get on a forest road. We take you further downhill. After about 2km gravel departure of the 5 branches off right again. This opportunity we can not miss us and go on the trail (S1). Finally, flows back into a tarred road and drives them further downhill. However, not everything was on trails, because after about 700m above the lake, the 5 branches left again and calls us out again (S2). The buildings we drive by and between them after a left turn right the forest road downhill to the valley. Down at the junction turn left and after the creek bridge right on the lake path at Durnholzer lake along. At the other end of the lake we drive on the paved road to the right and after 150m left in the place Durnholz high. You drive through the town Durnholz through. After the Pension Jägerhof left downhill and then. Straight route of 4ers direction Astfeld, St Kathrein hold. The 4p leads to a up and down beneath the tarmac road then. After the chapel short downhill on tar and then go right again on the 4-(S1 +). The following is an exchange between ascending path in the woods and in meadows. At one house ends and the trail you go on tar downhill. In the valley floor on the bridge, just up to the main road and this downhill right. Lack of alternatives, we now remain always on the road and down the valley Durnholzer out back to Astfeld. The variants Schlenkerer on Pichlbergalm with the beautiful mountain trail can be left out and go directly to the Gedrumalm. Given at the ramp to Pichlbergalm on height ca.1770m in a left-hand bend straight onto the forest road (7) series switch. At the exit of the Fort Schell Charte can skip the second and third pieces Trail and follow road into the valley. The 4p at Durnholz may be omitted and after the lake just to the left follow the road out of the valley. Comments from the Author The specified difficulty cycling the trails is based on the generally recommended singletrack scale. It involves a subjective assessment of me. I ask of Nachfahrern considerate and hazard-free behavior over all other Wegnutzern and adapted and friendly driving for the best possible preservation of trails and nature.
