Vom Lago Maggiore zum Lago di Garda Tag 1: Locarno - Monte Tamaro 25,08 km ; 1672 HM Fahrt über den Fahrradweg von Locarno nach Quartino, dort kurze Rast mit Stärkung. Aufstieg auf den Monte Tamaro anfangs über Asphalt, später über Schotter und groben Schotter. Teilweise mit Schiebpassagen. Als Alternative bringt einen die Gondel auf knapp 1500 HM. Ab der Alpe Foppa sind es noch ca. 400 HM bis zur Capanna Monte Tamaro auf 1882 HM. Hier gibt es keine Duschen und das Wasser ist kalt.

From Lake Maggiore to Lake Garda Day 1: Locarno - Monte Tamaro 25.08 km; 1672 HM ride along the cycle from Locarno to Quartino, there short break with refreshments. Ascent to Monte Tamaro initially on asphalt, gravel and coarse gravel later on. Some with sliding passages. Alternatively brings a gondola on almost 1500 HM. From the Alpe Foppa there are still about 400 HM to Capanna Monte Tamaro on 1882 HM. There are no showers and the water is cold.
