Trail Description


Die Tour du Monte Forte ist eine landschaftlich sehr schöne Bike Tour durch das Skigebiet von Quatre Vallées. Es geht meistens Bergab und es werden 4 Lifte benutzt um die Hauptanstiege zu bewältigen. Man durchfährt die Orte Siviez, Vervier, la Tzoumaz und Haute Nendaz. Es handelt sich um einen Rundkurs mit mehreren Einstiegsmöglichkeiten. Wir haben Siviez als Einstieg gewählt. Es geht als erstes mit einem 4er Sessellift über grüne Almwiesen entlang des Flusses Prinze bequem bergauf, gefolgt von der Monte Forte Gondel, welche einen bis auf etwa 3000 Meter bis an den Fuß des Gletschers bringt. Dort kann man die Bikes stehen lassen und (für zusätzliche 15,- CHF) bis auf die Spitze des Monte Fortes weiter gondeln um dort das atemberaubende Panorama mit Matterhorn, Dent Blanc, Bishorn, Weisshorn und co. genießen. Die Tour startet dann mit einer langen Abfahrt über eine Schotterstraße und Aussicht auf den Bec des Rosses und den Grand Combin vorbei an La Chaux bis nach Verbier. Besonders waghalsige können die letzten Stücke dieser Abfahrt auf den Downhill Pisten im Bike Park von Verbier machen. In Verbier steigt man in die Savoleyres Gondel, welche einen dann wieder bergauf bringt. Am Gipfel angekommen hat man eine tolle Aussicht über das Rhone Tal und auch auf Crans Montana. Es geht wieder bergab auf einer Schotterstraße durch den Ort La Tzoumaz. Anschließend geht es auf Asphalt bergauf bis oberhalb von Haute Nendaz um dann entspannt auf einer Straße in den Ort zu rollen. In Nendaz nimmt man dann die Gondel bis auf den Tracouet. Dort erwartet einen erneut eine tolle Aussicht über das Rhonetal und den Lac de Tracouet. Bergab geht es dann wieder auf Schotterstraßen bis kurz unterhalb von Siviez. Das letzte Stück der Tour geht dann entlang der Straße bergauf nach Siviez. Man sollte die Tour nicht zu spät starten, da man einige Lifte nehmen muss, welche in der Regel um 16:45 die letzte Bergfahrt machen. Die Lifte haben auch nicht den ganzen Sommer geöffnet. Am besten informiert man sich im Vorfeld im Internet. Warme Kleidung sollte sich ebenfalls im Rucksack befinden, da es auf 3000 Metern auch im Sommer sehr kalt sein kann. Die Kosten für den Liftpass (ohne Monte Forte Gipfel) betragen 30,- CHF.

The Tour du Monte Forte is a very scenic bike tour through the ski area of ??Quatre Vallées. It's mostly downhill and there are 4 lifts used for the main increases to deal with.
