Dall’abitato di San Pietro si prende in direzione del Passo delle Capannelle quando, in prossimità di un allevamento di bestiame, giriamo a dx per la lunga e durissima carrareccia che sale al Lago di Camarda. La traccia n. 111 inizia ad inerpicarsi per la straordinaria cresta montuosa affacciata sulla Valle del Chiarino. Si prosegue bici in spalla fin sulla vetta del Pizzo di Camarda dal quale si discende in sella solo se muniti di doti funamboliche. La traccia diviene più umana ma pur sempre molto ostica e per la maggior parte impedalabile sino a raggiungere la Sella delle Malecoste. A dx parte il cosiddetto sentiero Karol Woytila che passando dallo Iaccio del Vaduccio precipita a valle. La traccia si presenta nella parte iniziale a fondo terroso disconnesso che spesso si perde incrociando flebili tracce animali. Più a valle il fondo muta in pietroso ed alquanto tossico, scende con una serie indefinita di tornanti e passaggi tecnici per culminare nell’ultima parte,velocissima su carrareccia. Ripreso il bitume ci dirigiamo verso San Pietro non prima di effettuare l’ennesimo taglio che termina alla Fonte Vecchia.

From the town of San Pietro is taken in the direction of the Passo delle Capannelle when, in the vicinity of a herd of cattle, turn right for the long and tough track that leads to Lake Camarda. The track no. 111 begins to climb to the extraordinary mountain ridge overlooking the Valley of the Chiarino. Continue bike on his shoulder to the summit of Pizzo di Camarda, from which you descend into the saddle only if equipped with acrobatic skills. The track becomes more human but still very tricky and for the most part no cycle to reach the saddle of Malecoste. On the right part of the so-called path that Karol Wojtyla rising from the Iaccio Vaduccio rushes downstream. The track looks at the initial earthy background disconnected that often gets lost crossing faint traces of animals. Further downstream the bottom turns into stony and somewhat toxic, goes down with an indefinite series of switchbacks and technical steps to culminate in the final part, on fast dirt track. Taken the bitumen we head towards San Pietro not before making another cut that ends at the Old Source.
