Am Pfingstmontag 2012 war es mal wieder soweit: Der Brocken wartet! Vor einigen Jahren bin ich zu diesem Zweck ab Scharfenstein mal den heinrich-Heine-Weg gefahren und hatte den seitdem als mörderisch in Erinnerung. Und diese Erinnerung konnte ich dieses Jahr bestätigen: Der Weg überwindet auf den letzten 3,8km immerhin 500 Höhenmeter! Das reicht nun wieder für ein paar Jahre! Für den Rückweg habe ich den Weg vorbei an der verdeckten Ilse (heißt so, weil der Fluß Ilse von Granitblöcken verdeckt ist), vorbei an den Ilsefällen und widerum Scharfenstein, vorbei am Eckerstausee zurück nach Bad Harzburg. Fahrbarkeit An der Ostseite des Stausees ist der Weg stark von Baumwurzeln verblockt - Fahren ist zwar möglich aber kein Vergnügen! Zu der Steigung habe ich oben bereits genug gesagt. Auf der Rückfahrt ist der Weg links der Ilse (mit Wegpunkt markiert) ebenfalls sehr verblockt, diesmal von Steinen. Hier ist gute Technik oder Tragfähigkeit gefragt! Evtl. Alternativroute wählen. Verpflegung Außerhalb Bad Harzburgs liegen das Molkenhaus und der Rastplatz Scharfenstein auf dem Weg; sowohl auf dem Hin- wie auch auf dem Rückweg (da mit etwas Umweg). Außerdem kann man auf dem Brocken essen und trinken - zu den für die exponierte Lage typischen Preisen

On Whit Monday, 2012 it was time again: The Brocken waiting! A few years ago I went for this purpose from Scharfstein times the Heinrich-Heine-way and had since then as murderous in memory. On the return trip the path to the left of Ilse is (with waypoint marks) is also very caked, this time from stones. Here good technique or carrying capacity is needed! Possibly.
