Track Description

The aqueduct of Água de Prata (Silver Water Aqueduct) was the most important hydraulic structure constructed in Portugal during the 16th century. The single-track that follows most of the aqueduct is made for walks, but I did it on bike and I did end up with several scratches on the arms due to long brambles. Sometimes is not easy to keep on the marked track either because the path disappears or because it is not clear if you are in private or public property. Also beware of unstuck shepherd dogs. So at a given point I made a detour through the Ecovia, to reach Évora centre and then returning back to the starting point following the aqueduct once again.  
The trip starts and ends in the Hotel Quinta dos Bastos which has a good value for money and its about 5 km from Évora centre and close to several hiking/cycling paths.Rural tourism Quinta dos Bastos  External link:
