Auf dieser Tour haben wir uns von Fred van der Meer führen lassen, da sie mit dem verfügbaren Kartenmaterial nicht zu machen wäre (s. Link). Er spricht gut deutsch und kann auch brauchbare Miet-MTBs vermitteln. Außerdem kann er Kontakt zu Paul Beesley herstellen, der weitere Touren mit internationaler Besetzung anbietet. Start der Tour ist im Hotelgebiet "Praia de Falesia" von Olhos d'Agua (der Ort ist auf verschiedenen Schildern verschieden geschrieben, also bitte nicht wundern) vor dem Hotel Porto Bay Falesia. Bergabwärts geht es vorbei am RIU Guarana und nach einer Spitzkehre auf Schotter und dann Teer bergauf in den Ortsteil Roja Pe. Diesen durchfährt man auf der Hauptstraße, um in der Nähe der Quinta do Mel auf Feldwege zu wechseln. Nach Überqueren der Straße Loule - Albufeira geht es weiter auf Feldwegen und kurzen Trailabschnitten, bis man die Nationalstraße N 125 erreicht. Die N 125 muss man ein kurzes Stück nutzen, was aber dank Randstreifens unproblematisch ist, um dann nach rechts auf eine Nebenstraße abzubiegen. Hinter Fontainhas geht es dann über Schotterwege durch die Steinbrüche und dann per Feldweg zum Trail ins Tal des Ribiera de Algibre. Mit unseren Hardtails war dabei auf einigen Abschnitten Schieben angesagt, außerdem sollte man auf die Dornen achten. Der Fluss wird auf einer Römerbrücke (s. Bild) gequert, dann geht es wieder auf Trails entlang des Flusses weiter. Über eine Schotter- und Teerstraße erreicht man dann Paderne, wo es Einkehrmöglichkeiten gibt. Die Rückfahrt haben wir aus Zeitgründen auf wenig befahrenen, meist geteerten Nebenstraßen zurückgelegt, wobei der Abstecher nach Boliqueime nochmal einige Höhenmeter brachte. Nach Erreichen der Straße Loule - Albufeire geht es dann auf dem Hinweg zurück zum Ausgangspunkt.
