Eine klassische Tourbei der die Beschreibung schon fast überflüssig ist. Insgesamt eine sportliche Herausforderung, da speziell die Auffahrt dann zum Schachen selbst lang und relativ steil ist. Oben angekommen ist es an schönen Tagen aber ein Traum mit einer wunderbaren Aussicht. Man steht mitten im Hochgebirge und ist doch nur eine Autostunde von München weg. Los gehts in Farchant. Wer den morgendlichen und abendlichen Stau auf der Straße entgehen will, startet gleich in Eschenlohe und hat damit aber jeweils 10km mehr Fahrt. An der Loisach entlang nach Partenkirchen, durch den alten Ortskern gehts zum ersten Anstieg etwas abseits der B2 in Richtung Gschwandnerbauer. Kurz davor führt der Weg dann parallel der Straße bis nach Klais. Dort biegt man ab nach Elmau, am Hotel Kranzbach vorbei zum Schloss Elmau. Kurz später am Parkplatz führt der Weg zum Schachen. Anfangs auf gutem Kiesweg an einem rauschenden Bach entlang, später dann im Wald immer ordentlich bergauf. Kurz vor der Wettersteinalm beginnt dann der eigentliche Schachenweg. Er ist recht steil und vom Untergrund schwieriger als zuvor. Weiter oben kommen dann einige Flachstellen, aber noch nicht jubeln, es kommen noch ein paar steile Abschnitte. Zwischendurch hat man schon wunderbare Ausblicke auf die Berge und sieht dann auch schon bald das ungewöhnlichste "Schloss" von König Ludwig II stehen. Es ist nur ein Holzhaus, hat aber innen eine wundervolle Einrichtung. Außer dem Schloss gibts oben einen Alpengarten und natürlich eine Wirtschaft für eine gute Pause. Es lohnt sich nach dem Essen noch zu Fuß ca. 5 Min zum Aussichtspunkt zu gehen. Dort hat man einen super Blick ins Reintal, Alpspitze, Zugspitzplatt und das Osterfeldergebiet. Runter gehts auf dem gleichen Weg bis zum Parkplatz. Dort dann aber weiter Richtung Graseck / Eckbauer. Auf dem Anstieg zum Eckbauer gehts dann nach knapp 100 mühsamen Höhenmetern links nach Graseck. Ein herrliches Stück Landschaft. In Vordergraseck kommt dann noch eine extrem steile Abfahrt auf Teer hinunter zur Partnach. Ab dort gehts nahezu eben am Skistaion vorbei durch Garmisch mit einem schönen Stop an einer Eisdiele zurück zum Auto.

A classic Tourbei of the description is almost superfluous. Overall, a sporting challenge, especially since the driveway is then to Schachen even long and relatively steep. At the top it is on nice days but a dream with a wonderful view. It stands high on the mountains and yet is only an hour away from Munich. Here we go in Farchant. Who wants to miss the morning and evening traffic jam on the road, starts the same in Eschenlohe and but has thus each 10km ride more. At the Loisach along to Partenkirchen, through the old town center for the first rise go a bit off the B2 towards Gschwandnerbauer. Just before the trail then parallel the road to Klais. Here, turn to Elmau, on site Kranzbach over to Schloss Elmau. Shortly afterwards in the parking lot leads the way to Schachen. Initially on good gravel road to a babbling brook along, and moving to more properly in the forest uphill. Shortly before the Wettersteinalm then begins the actual Schachenweg. It is quite steep and difficult from the ground than before. Then come above some flat spots, but not cheer, there are a few steep sections. In between you have been wonderful views of the mountains and then sees soon quot the most unusual &; Castle & quot; standing of King Ludwig II. It's just a wooden house, but the inside has a wonderful facility. Besides the castle there above an alpine garden and of course a business for a good break. It's worth about 5 minutes to walk to the lookout after dinner walk. There you have a great view into the Reintal, Alpine peaks, Zugspitzplatt and Osterfelder area. Down go the same route to the parking lot. There, however, continue in the direction Graseck / Eckbauer. On the climb to Eckbauer then we go to almost 100 meters above sea level laborious left to Graseck. A delightful piece of landscape. In Vordergraseck then comes with an extremely steep descent on tar down to Partnach. From there go almost flat on ski station passing through Garmisch with a nice stop at an ice cream shop back to the car.
