Our tour starts at the "park and ride" parking lot directly at the motorway exit Burscheid (A1). On the B51 we can roll on asphalt towards Hilgen and left on to Witzhelden cozy us first. With the right "operating temperature" is about it for now on a very beautiful and challenging single trail along the forest edge, which involves a couple Carrying passages to cope downhill in the wet - of course true tough guys go several feet long, steep pieces of rugged shale. After the last crisp trails are taken Wupper with almost vertical slopes dropping down, we cross those. Once at the bottom of the valley there is now a longer rise up again and continue on Solingen district castle over. A beautiful lookout point with seating invites us to a large sip from the Camelback with a great view on the Müngstener bridge. It goes to the station Schaberg, where you can make a longer rest comfortably. At the end, you should warm up well but again, because it follows one of the most demanding downhills - crisp switchbacks lead down to the river Wupper, which we cross one more time.
