Leider viel zu selten, aber dann umso schöner, zieht es mich nach Großalmerode zu meinem langjährigen Alpencross- und Tourenbegleiter Daniel, um Rund um Großalmerode die ein oder andere MTB-Tour zu unternehmen. Hier findet man ein abwechslungsreiches MTB-Tourengebiet par ecellence wie es schöner kaum sein kann. Mit 753m ist der Hohe Meißner die höchste Erhebung im Nordosten Hessens und auch bei Wintersportlern sehr beliebt. Somit eine ideale Spielwiese für Mountainbiker. Von der Terasse des Meißnerhauses kann man bei hoffentlich klarem Wetter eine tolle Fernsicht bei einem Glas alkoholfreiem Weizenbier genießen, wie man sie ansonsten in Nordhessen nur in Herkulesbiker's Heimatrevier in und um den Habichtswald (evtl. noch auf dem Bilstein oberhalb von Großalmerode) finden kann.
