Osno Lubuskie (dt. Osno Lubusz (dt. Drossen) is one of the few cities in the region, in the medieval defensive wall has been preserved. It was built in 1477 at a length of 1,350 meters and had 12 bastions. The oldest building of Osno is the Jacobi church from 1298 with her late Renaissance altar, the pulpit and the baptismal font from the 17th century. In the parish library the world chronicle of Schedel (1494) and Posen Missal (1505) should be retained with colored woodcuts. The nationally valuable town hall dates from 1544 and was rebuilt in the 19th century. Neo-Renaissance with Gothic elements. All this testifies to the fact that Osno was once a major site in the historic Sternberger country and its only mint. Osno was not only the center of the administration, but also famous for cloth manufacturing, brewing and horticulture, as well as from the 19th century. For the degradation of peat and lignite. Although the war destroyed 70% of the houses, but the town still has a special flair. Water lovers will find in and around the city rich recreational opportunities: North of the city is Lake Reczynek with its recreation center / campsite (budget accommodation). Very picturesque hiking is located three kilometers from the city postglacial channel with seven lakes. Quot valley of Lenzebaches &; Also in the nearby nature reserve & quot; you will find valuable forests and crystal clear lakes. Around 1850, was built on the northeast side of Röthsees on a hill a cemetery for the Jewish community. The site, which is surrounded by a stone wall has survived to this day. Inside the fence are six grave slabs from the late 19th century. Preserved. Some others are only preserved in fragments and scattered throughout the cemetery grounds. On an elevated place on the West side of the Röthsees (Reczynek) the Dietrich-Eckart-monument was erected in 1937. The monument was built of granite stones in the form of a tower-like monument with four ogival arcades. Mistakenly, the tower is often referred to as Bismarkturm. The writer and journalist Dietrich Eckart (1868-1923) was from 1920 co-founder and chief editor of & quot; People's Observer & quot; and close friend of Adolf Hitler. At the 1936 Summer Olympics, Hitler today's forest stage in Berlin as & quot; Dietrich Eckart Stage & quot; quot in honor of his &; fatherly friend & quot; open up.
