Heute (07.03.2009) war es zwar mit 6° immer noch recht kühl, aber immerhin kam pünktlich zum Start die Sonne heraus. Start ist in Brakelsiek an der Tankstelle. Von dort nach Schieder durch das Wohngebiet Sehlberg zum Stausee. Am Schiederstausee entlang ging es über die Staumauer erst einmal zum warm werden über Glashütte auf den Winterberg. Ein neu geschotterter Waldweg bis fast zum Gipfel. Bei Melchersruh kurze Rast und ein Foto in der Nachmittagssonne. Runter nach Eschenbruch und auf der anderen Seite noch auf die Herlingsburg - 335 m - Bei fast 20%iger Steigung und aufgeweichtem Boden ist es keine Schande, wenn man die letzten 100 m absteigt. Von hier hat man einen wunderbaren Blick auf den Schiedersee. Abfahrt zur Staumauer und dann im Steinbachtal hinauf und über Birkenhütte zurück nach Schieder.
