Percorso breve ma intenso che vi porterà a "scalare" per quasi due volte il Montiego.
Si parte dal parcheggio del municipio di Piobbico, si attraversa il paese e ci si immette in un single track che costeggia il fiume per alcune centinaia di metri (CAI 7) fino a raggiungere la strada asfaltata.
Da qui si prosegue per asfalto fino all'intersezione con la strada bianca che sale al borgo di Montiego. Salita corta ma molto impegnativa.
Raggiunto il borgo di Montiego gli ultimi metri sono su ripidissima carrareccia al limite della pedalabilità (qui ci vuole gamba e fiato da leoni)...meglio spingere!
Vi troverete ora su un ampio pratone al di sotto del quale è situata la Balza della Penna....roba per arrampicatori non per bici!
Attraversate il pratone seguendo gli omini (pietre segnavia) che sono stati lasciati ad indicare l'imbocco del sentiero CAI 5. Qui ha inizio la prima discesa che, come anche la seconda, non presenta particolari difficoltà tecniche se non la presenza di ciotolame che rende la guida, in alcuni punti, difficoltosa. In aggiunta attenzione ad alcuni passaggi che sono esposti.
Al termine della discesa sarete di nuovo a Piobbico, pronti, si spera, alla salita finale che è lunga, lunga e ripida!
La parte iniziale è su asfalto, poi fino alla vetta, su strada bianca.
Raggiunti i prati sommitali, da cui si gode una fantastica vista del monte Nerone, avrete 4,5 km di discesa passando dal sentiero 5 (percorso in precedenza) e dal sentiero 6.
Quest'ultimo sentiero è molto flow, non c'è presenza di ciotolame ma la parte finale, come per il sentiero 5, ha qualche tratto esposto dove prestare attenzione.
La discesa si conclude con il CAI 7 che ci riporta all'auto.

Short but intense journey that will take you to "climb" for almost twice the Montiego.
From the parking lot of City Hall in Piobbico, go through the village and you get into a single track that runs along the river for a few hundred meters (CAI 7) until you reach the paved road.
From here you continue to the intersection with the asphalt road that climbs to the village of Montiego. Ascent short but very challenging.
Reached the village of Montiego the last few meters are steep dirt track on the edge of the pedalability (here it takes leg and breath by lions) ... better to push!
You are now on a large pratone below which is situated the Balza Pen .... stuff for climbers not to bike!
Cross the pratone following the men (stones trail) that have been left to indicate the beginning of the path CAI 5. Here begins the first descent, as well as the second, not particularly difficult if the presence of ciotolame that makes driving in some places, difficult. In addition attention to passages that are exposed.
After the descent you'll be back in Piobbico, ready, hopefully, the final climb is long, long and steep!
The first part is on asphalt, then up to the summit, on gravel road.
Reaching the summit meadows, where you can enjoy a fantastic view of Mount Nerone, you'll 4.5km descent path passing from 5 (path above) and from the trail 6
The latter path is very flow, there is no presence of ciotolame but the final part, as the path 5, has some exposed stretches where to pay attention.
The descent ends with the CAI 7 Which brings us back to 'cars.
