Routenbeschreibung

It is a historical route in the Upper Curone, which touches the Apennine ridges separating the Piedmont and Lombardy - North-South ridge - and then those that run east-west from the intersection of the two on the summit of Mount Chiappo, the which also marks the border of three regions: Piedmont, Lombardy and Emilia Romagna.
The tour takes its name from the stream Lubia, point of departure and arrival dell'appagante ring.
-Lubia Lubia The route is characterized by a long climb before the asphalt and then a dirt road that leads to Mount Factory Curone Boglielio, mostly immersed in cool woods.
Here you along a beautiful ridge between woods and open spaces in the midst of green pastures, up to the highest peak of the day , Mount Chiappo (1,700 m) on which stand the refuge of the same name (to be assessed for a lunch break, recommended!) and the statue of St. Joseph at the point where they cross the three provinces.
From here we continue on forever beautiful ridge down to the pace of the Mouths of Crenna, leading to the High Curone Borbera. It comes down to narrow grassy track to Rifugio Bears Ezio, to continue in the direction Caldirola. This is the first variant of the classic tour, which would include the entire path of the ridge from the Strait of Crenna to Mount Ebro, until the last day of the summit, Mount Gropà on which stands the statue of Christ the Redeemer.
As mentioned, by Orsi takes refuge for Caldirola, joining onto the new path of the All-Mountain bike park that descends with fun trend up to La Gioia, where the chair lift that takes you to the slopes of Mount Gropà. Here is the second variant, we take the chair lift, then you will come riding beneath Mount Giarolo from which you take a long and varied descent, for dirt roads, footpaths and bridleways, until you get to the hamlet of Castello di Fabbrica Curone. It falls on asphalt returning to the starting point.
The route is long and complex, better to rely on local guides to follow (mtb group of the local section of the CAI, Long Extremi, link below), subject to the opportunity to follow the track gps attached.
Itinerary suitable for biker well trained and with at least a decent preparation technique. We recommend a full suspension bike from at least 100 mm of travel on both wheels to fully enjoy every stretch of this exciting and rewarding ring.
