Da Montorio si percorre la Strada Maestra del Parco Nazionale del Gran Sasso fino al bivio per Prati di Tivo ( 8,5 Km su asfalto - dislivello 180 mt circa ). Si sale con pendenza costante fino alla base degli impianti ( 15 Km su asfalto - dislivello 1030 mt. circa ). Con la funivia ( 8 euro solo andata ) si raggiunge la Madonnina (1,7 Km - dislivello 580 mt. circa ). Ora in discesa verso il rifugio abbandonato e poi giù verso la croce per poi proseguire lungo la sterrata che costeggia Cima Alta. Da qui senza GPS è difficile trovare il sentiero giusto. Il percorso risale nel bosco per circa 1,5 Km ed un dislivello di 130 mt circa. Dal terrazzo con vista si scende fino a Montorio per un dislivello di 1400 mt su 15 Km.

From Montorio go along the Strada Maestra National Park of Gran Sasso to the junction for Prati di Tivo (8.5 Km on asphalt - altitude 180 mt). You climb with a constant slope to the base of the plant (15 km on asphalt - altitude 1030 m. Approximately). With the cable car (8 euro one way) to reach the Madonnina (1.7 km - altitude 580 mt.). Now down to the abandoned hut and then down towards the cross and then continue along the dirt road that runs along Cima Alta. From here without GPS is difficult to find the right path. The route goes through the woods for about 1.5 km and a vertical drop of 130 meters approximately. From the terrace with a view of it comes down to Montorio to a height of 1400 meters over 15 Km.
