Escursione che ha il via presso il bivio del colle S. Giacomo, sopra Finale Ligure, essendo un anello, è però possibile anche partire da punti diversi come l'abitato di Mallare, delizioso borgo della Val Bormida.
Giro poco impegnativo a causa del dislivello contenuto e del percorso tutto su strada sterrata, anche se in qualche punto, dopo le piogge, si può incontrare qualche difficoltà.
Completamente immerso in boschi di faggio e castagno, può essere fatto durante tutta la stagione estiva, anche se autunno e primavera, sono le stagioni più indicate, le temperature gelide e la neve, sconsigliano l'inverno.
Dal bivio del Colle S. Giacomo, imbocchiamo subito una sterrata a sinistra, seguendola, arriviamo da una vasca dove saliamo a destra, per una bella sterrata immersa tra i faggi, raggiungiamo il santuario di Madonna della Neve.
Attraversata la strada, prendiamo la sterrata a sinistra, segnalata da un quadrato giallo, è il segno da seguire, incontreremo un solo bivio da seguire a destra, arrivando sull'asfalto sopra all'abitato di Mallare.
Da qui una bella sterrata ci farà tornare salendo al colle, dopo alcuni km. alle auto.

From the junction of the Colle S. Giacomo, now we take a dirt road to the left, following it, we come from a tank where we go to right, for a nice dirt road surrounded by beech trees, we reach the sanctuary of the Madonna della Neve.
Cross the road and take the dirt road to the left, marked by a yellow square, is a sign to follow, we will encounter a fork in the road only to be followed to the right, reaching the asphalt above the village of Mallaig.
From here we will return to a nice dirt road going up the hill, after a few miles. to cars.
