Siamo partiti da Avezzano, bacheca CAI, alle 08,20 alla volta di Fonte Capolamaina, dove avevamo appuntamento con gli amici di Celano.
Raggiunto il valico con i celanesi ci siamo diretti sullo sterrato a fianco al residence Fiocco di neve.
Subito la salita si è presentata impegnativa.
Il percorso è molto evidente e pian pianino ci ha portato fino al punto più alto a quota 1320.
Da qui, seguendo il metanodotto in discesa, siamo arrivati a Castelnuovo.
Poiché era ancora presto, abbiamo deciso di allungare la strada del ritorno passando per Alba Fucens.
Il percorso totale è stato di km.36,7 e per chi volesse ripeterlo è possibile scaricare il tracciato gps che può essere visualizzato con Google Eart o utilizzato con navigatore satellitare.
Attenzione, sulla strada per Alba Fucens, abbiamo lasciato l’asfalto per tentare uno sterrato, zona cave, che si è rivelato impraticabile per fango.
