Routenbeschreibung

Short but intense hike to one of the most interesting peaks of the Apennines Fabrianese, Monte Giuoco del Pallone, whose curious name probably derives from the large undulating summit that looks very much like a stadium. Starting from Esanatoglia climb the steep road that leads to the hermitage of San Cataldo, perched on a rocky spur of Mount Corsegno, overlooking the village and the lush valley of San Pietro. At the height of one of the last turns you off the road for a path that climbs the north side of the mountain. You get to the pastures of Pantanacci you exceed the Colle Corgocciolo and descend along the pine forest of the area Chiamatoro to the saddle Batterotonda, located between the Valley and the Valley of San Pietro Rota. With one last steep single track to the summit of the mountain which we amply repays the effort with a stunning 360 degree view of the surrounding peaks. It continues, always on the path to Monte Pizzinetto of Mutula and returns to Esanatoglia with a nice single track that descends along the left side of the Valley of St. Peter to the first houses of the village.
