Routenbeschreibung

Tipologia: AM
Lunghezza e Dislivello: 15Km e 900m
Durata: 2h di salita (+40min per la vetta) con 1h20 di discesa.
-------------
Partenza:

Type: AM
Length and Slope: 15km and 900m
Duration: 2h edge (+ 40min to the top) with 1h20 descent.
------------- < br> Check-out:
The tour that I describe it as a point of departure / arrival the country in May, in Valsassina, accessible from Lecco with the highway that reaches Ballabio (follow signs for Valsassina) following then right Barzio; After about 2km near the grocer ALVA climb right direction Culmination of St. Peter and looking for a parking immediately nearby.
-------------
Once parked it rises from casere May (there is a sign) until you get to "artigianelli" (should be a kind of colony), here a nice dirt road in the woods at times quite challenging, that after about 7km to Alpe of Desio, a small pasture.
Here the issue becomes hairy
you may want to reach the peak of Mount Two Hands with a strenuous climb of about 300m in altitude bike IN SHOULDER (you push a little, the more in the shoulder), or cut off the climb taking a little easier and a little obvious deviation direction Foppa leading to cross the descent from the ridge.
on MAP () can be found both paths:
-in RED tour complete, including the ascent to the summit
-in YELLOW variant for cutting.
If you had the tenacity and stubbornness to get to the top, all the effort is rewarded by a view of 360 ° spatial , grigne the front, you see the lakes, the jagged granite and plans Artavaggio, in Valsassina is one of the most beautiful sights I've found, it's worth it.
From the top, pointing to the Zucco di Desio, the first section plane along the ridge leaves a big smile on his face, there is never real danger even if you can make a nice tumble down the steep meadows. There is still a little push but once you get over the very top the descent begins.
Keep right instead of down along the ridge, they told me (and I trust) that you can not go straight.
path can be intuited, steep sections and sliding, very few technical steps, it's amazing how you drive fast and fluid along a singletrack all curves up to the Foppa, a beautiful valley with a few old hut pulled forward; follow down the unpaved until a'ultima ruined house, at the bottom of the valley there is the continuation of the path, just run-off, a little salt and then back down, still fun.
Better to have the track, the path in the woods is a little dirty but can be attended well, you will come out on a pratone with a house on the right side a road that quickly leads to the paved road of the huts from where it had risen. I know that's no way to come down to almost the bottom of the valley but I have not found it yet.
WARNING: gps track recorded has two easily avoidable deviations that do not recommend to follow: the first in the vicinity of Foppa , the trail continues straight but it is better to follow the driveway to the right; the second once appeared out in lawns with the house, the track is lost in the meadows and then abandoned for a path to be avoided, here too it is best to follow the driveway.
NOTE: During the descent I beg you not to get too much and cut the curves, as well as avoid the sgumme in the long run ruin the very path and it would be a shame; Water is a fountain Alpe di Desio.
period: from late spring until the first snows, before you risk to find more snow.
