Routenbeschreibung

This route of about 40 km of the Marathon is organized on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the birth of Nebrodi held on 05/03/18.
Ring that unfolds in some of the most beautiful places of the park does not provide rest stops along the way and even the fountains are few and it is advisable to bring with you what you need for a hike of about 3-4 hours with steep slopes. The route starts from the dirt road to the east that starts uphill in the direction Portella Dagara located at 1430m altitude. In this stretch along some 10 km there are many scenic spots and scrub vegetation is not very dense. The fund is compact at first, but towards the end some slopes are rocky and slippery: it is without doubt the most difficult stretch of the route, however, and that earns the required quota. Arrived at Portella Dagara turn right and continue uphill for a little background on a decidedly more compact, until Portella Head to 1570 m pedaling finally comfortable shade of the beech wood of Scavioli. From here you go up and down in a Portella Balestra pedaling in a small forest of beeches, maples and oaks, and at the junction, continue in the direction of Lake Biviere Cesaro on a pretty background beat and slide that ends just behind the lake Portella Biviere at an altitude of 1280 me after about 20 km. From here you can enjoy views of the Rocche del Crasto to the North-East that rise above the valley and the town of Rosemary Alcara Li Fusi. E 'can also stock up on water at a fountain which is located a few tens of meters in a westerly direction, just below the road. It continues from the junction of Portella Biviere the descent into the valley below on a slippery surface and treacherous, mostly stony, and crossed in several places by streams easily passable; the vegetation is mainly scrub and is little thick. Arrived in Piano Perotta (867 m), turn right to return to Portella Gazzana for a path to the top, slightly uphill, but then falls first to a valley at about 800m altitude and then up to 980 m of Gazzana . This is located right at the base of the Rocche del Crasto, which may be useful for guidance in the choice of bifurcation from the main dirt road. This last stretch is not very compact, mostly full of tears, and small fords little shade: in short, a little mangy after all the green seen before ... The tour ends in the square in front of the Gazzana to a local restaurant where you can finally take refreshment.
