Routenbeschreibung

It is a route that is developed in two rings the plateau overlooking the town of Urzulei, starting point and destination of the route.
We head first to the exit of the country along the SP37 in SS125.
A few hundred meters after the exit from the country begins furistrada the path on the right, continue for another 500m, then turn into an uphill road on the left that goes up the mountain for about 2km until you reach the SS125. The track has a steep slope and is currently affected by the work of arrangement, which will make the journey easier for less experienced bikers.
Continue left along the SS125 to take after the first few meters on the dirt track the right. He now runs a scenic route in excellent condition, with no gradients of relief, from which you can admire the southern side of the Moon Codula along with a great variety of plants and animals in the wild state.
The course is also suitable to occasional cyclists, spread to the north of Serra Trapania above Urzulei, to go up to 10 km towards the SS125 in the area of ??Genna Cross.
When you reach the tourist abandoned Genna Cross takes you through the SS125 and Continue uphill on a tarmac in fair condition maintenance in the direction of Campo Oddeu. Getting on board for about 2km is made pleasant by the magnificent view of the Gulf of Arbatax and across the valley of Urzulei.
Reaching the entrance of the plateau of Campo Oddeu you can close the first loop of about 15km, down along the path of St. George, appropriately marked, and that through a few steep switchbacks allows to overcome the over 400m in altitude that separate us from the town of Urzulei.
The route continues on the left instead of leaving the Path St George and taking a fun single-track direction Fennau. The bike path is at 95%, has some technical sections at the ends of some streams and in the vicinity of the source Su Cuilargia.
The last stretch of the trail that descends toward the source has been swallowed up by the branches and agrees to proceed with the bike on the shoulder for about 200m or more easily, but always with the bike on the shoulder at some points, falling right on the ridge of the mountain. Once at the source, take the dirt road on the right, cross the river on a bridge Sa Apple recently rebuilt after the flood and then take the track on the left side of the river. The track runs for about 500m until a trough, from which it goes on a narrow path, hidden by vegetation, which allows us to advance a few hundred meters up to introduce us to the dry bed of the river.
The Rio Sa Apple has characteristics typical of the karst area, with flow void in the absence of rain, interrupted by events of a flood during heavy rainfall. Therefore, this route is not recommended during periods affected by heavy rains.
After traveling a few meters "floating" on the pebbles, take a mule coal along the right side of the river that goes back a few tens of meters along the ridge of the canyon right between rocks and trees clinging to the sheer rock faces. The fund is in general path, with the exception of some parts carved into the rock and the accumulation of stones after years of neglect. The simple job of cleaning the stones and shrubs would open to the general public a circuit of exceptional beauty in one of the most beautiful areas of Sardinia.
Crossed the canyon you come to a sheepfold, in the area known as Televai, from which take the road towards Urzulei, to return to the country through the path of St. George.
ring Codula Sa Mela can be traveled in both directions.
The descent is steep and to Urzulei develops in a series of hairpin bends to better lying along the steep wall of the mountain. The path, which in the first stretch of about 20m water-erosion is torn, has many technical sections that will be appreciated by the most experienced bikers, and compel others to continue with caution and, on some occasions, to get off the bike.
The tour as a whole measures approximately 31km, of which the first 15km suitable for all, with about 1280m of ascent accumulated. The second part of the track, more rugged, has several stretches of high technical difficulty, including the final path to Urzulei.
Physical requirements: 3 (from 1 to 5)
Technical difficulty: 4
